IOWA Testing

HEP TX offers the IOWA Assessment Test. Texas does not require homeschool families to test but many families like to use a test, along with grades, parent observations, etc., for an overall assessment of student success. The test should not be the only gauge of student success. Please do not put pressure on your child. You may purchase study materials and practice with your child for 2-3 days per week for about six weeks before the testing time. 20-30 minutes each day is adequate. Stop about 1 week before the test to give your child a break. It is also important to talk about test taking skills.

The Alpha Chapter invites you to consider joining. We hold meetings the 3rd Friday of each month at HEP TX in Friendswood. The meetings start at 2:30 pm. The chapter is involved in service projects and enjoys socializing as well. Over the last 20 years, the Alpha Chapter has donated over $20K to the PTSD Foundation’s Camp Hope in the Houston area. Our webpage is currently unavailable but we will post an application on here as soon as possible.
